Administering Places Catalog

Add sources to make IBM® Lotus® Quickr™ places and templates available to users in Places Catalog.

Sources are connections to servers or clusters containing Lotus Quickr places and templates. The servers publish metadata about their places and templates, and sources collect that metadata in an index. Place metadata then displays in lists of places in the Public Places and My Places views. Template metadata displays when users create a new place. By default metadata is collected automatically on a schedule, but you can control collections for each source.
Note: Only place and template metadata is collected, not the actual place content.

To add sources, log in to Lotus Quickr as an administrator and click the Places Catalog Administration link at the bottom of the page. Then click Add Source.

Then perform the following tasks to manage sources:
Note: In clustered environments, Places Catalog Administration is located on the primary node. If you see a message that says that the primary node is not available, an administrator can switch the Places Catalog Administration to a secondary node. For information, see the topic Replacing the Places Catalog primary node in the IBM Lotus Quickr information center.
